Summer So Far

It’s been a busy and fun summer so far.

Aside from the usual goofing off, laying around, swimming and hanging out with friends we recently went to Philadelphia, PA. Great-Gandmom Sophie, Uncle Rick, Aunt Fran, Cousin Carolyn, Cousin Chris and his new wife Sharone (and new baby Lauren) all live just outside of Philly.

We went to the Philadelphia zoo (America’s first zoo), Hershey Park, the Train Barn and Train Museum, ate a lot and played. Uncle Whit, Aunt Kim, Wyatt and Lauren also were there and so were Poppy and DiDi.

When we got back, our house was flooded from a broken pipe and we had to take all our carpet out. Who cares, I still get to swim and play!

Our friends Mary Grace, Olivia and Louis came into town over the Fourth of July weekend. We had fun, ate, swan, saw fireworks and went to Spencer’s party on the Pedernales. It was fun.

Next we’re going to Wyoming for a week. I can’t wait, it will be cooler there and we can hike, go down the alpine slide, see Yellowstone, ride horses go rafting, see Mike the Moose and play miniature golf. Maybe before that we can go to the beach and stay at Port Royal where they have that neat pool and slide. We also might go visit Nanna and GrandDad before school starts. Wow, that’s a lot to do.

A weekend in the life...

We had a very typical, small-town weekend. Friday, after scholl, I went to Jessica's and played. Mom, dad and Edward came over later. Edward played with Jamie and Mom and Dad ate with the Jarreau's.

Saturday morning it was cartoons and then on to brother's baseball game where I helped Mom man the concession stands. A quick lunch at Clear River and then more playing with Jessie at the Jarreau's. All the Jarreau's came over to our house Sat. night and Jessie and I played and swam and ate. I fell asleep on Mom's lap about 10:30.

Sunday it was up early (as usual) and a few toons with Mom before Dad and Edward got up. Edward and I played all morning. At 1:30 we had to take Edward to J.T.'s birthday party at the bowling alley then Dad and I ran some errands and went by to pick up Jessie. Jessie and I played at our house while Mom and Dad did chores. Mrs. Jarreau picked up Jessie and then we had to eatr, take showers and get ready for bed.

Can a 4 yr. old really blog...?

Of course not, but his "hipper than the other dads", Dad" can do it for him. Since I was a bit slow on the uptake for reserving dot com names, I though I might throw the occaisonal post out there under Ethan's name to "reserve" his place in the blogsphere.

If the past is any indication, he'll be into something out there that's totally different by the time he's old enought o know which end the computer is which. Hopefully, that will be a while as we intend to keep him focused on "normal" kid stuff like friends, school, sports, etc. He'll have plenty of time to type meanless chatter when he's older. In the meantime, I'll use this forum to brag on what a great kid he is!

The picture in the profile is from when he had his tonsils out!
